Vintages: Not many, although when you do come across something, it will be cheap.

Staff: Few but friendly; they love a good chat about your purchases or how expensive normal retail prices are
Rating: ★★★☆☆ Why?: Cheap but not much variety (very few womens shorts, kids clothing and size range)
Remember to: Take your Salvation Army rewards card for purchases over $10!

Vinnies Rockdale

Name: Vinnies Rockdale
Location: 445 Princes Highway, Rockdale
Hours: 9am-5pm Monday to Saturday, 10am-4pm Sunday
Price Range: $1-$100
Charity: St Vincent De Paul Society
Goods: Mens, womens & kids clothing (including sleepwear), shoes, books, formal wear, kitchen utensils, ornaments, baskets, haberdashery, blankets, handbags, records, hats, and jewellery
Vintages: With a double sided rack of retro clothes, you're bound to find something you'll love! (And they're reasonably priced too)
Eftpos: Yes, for purchases over $10
Staff: Friendly elderly who hate customers who try for a bargain or make a mess of the clothes. Be aware of their slow pace when you're in a hurry.
Rating: ★★★★☆ Why?: Really big range of every product, specifically a large sizing range in shoes and jeans. Prices are typical of Vinnies, about $8 for a blouse and $13 for a pair of jeans. 

Salvation Army Engadine

Name: Salvation Army Engadine (Family Store)
Location: 5/10 Waratah Street, Engadine
Hours: 9-4:30pm Monday to Friday, 9-1:30pm Satuday
Price Range: $0.50-$30
Charity: Salvation Army
Goods: Mens, womens & kids clothing, shoes, toys, formal wear, ornaments, blankets, handbags,  hats, school uniforms and jewellery
Vintages: Very little, the occasional piece here and there
Eftpos: Unknown
Staff: Typically one to two manned shop, friendly volunteers who aim to keep the shop tidyed and the customers happy. If you catch one in a good mood, they'll give you a good discount.
Rating: ★★★☆☆ Why?: Very small shop, not much variety, but very cheap prices.

Second Chance Opportunity Shop

Name: Second Chance Opportunity Shop 
Location: Warburton Streeet, Gymea (shopping end of street)  
Hours: 9-4:30pm Monday to Friday, 9-12:30pm Saturday 
Price Range: $1-$20
Charity: Yes, Gymea Uniting Church
Goods: Mens, womens & kids clothing, shoes, books, formal wear, kitchen utensils, ornaments, baskets, haberdashery, blankets, handbags, records, hats, and jewellery
Vintages: Scattered vintage clothes throughout the store, probably about 20% is vintage.
Eftpos: No
Staff: Elderly friendly staff who are always chatting to each other and their customers. They have dated senses of fashion but can be helpful if you are looking for something in particular. 
Rating: ★★★★☆ Why?: Great prices and reasonable range of vintages. The downside is the small size of the shop.

Millie's Opportunity Shop

Name: Millie's Opportunity Shop
Location: 5/16 Boyle Street, Sutherland 2232
Hours: 10-5pm Monday to Friday, 9-2pm Saturday (hours vary depending on popularity)  
Price Range: $2-$60
Charity: No
Goods: Mens, womens & kids clothing, work wear, shoes, sunglasses, doilies, blankets, material remnants, handbags, hats,  and jewellery
Vintages: Whole section devoted to wacky vintage clothing, ranging in prices from $10-$50
Eftpos: No
Staff: Small range of staff (usually the same lady and some of her friends) who are very friendly and love a good chat. If you are looking for something specific, she will know where it will be if she has it, and if not, she will keep a look out for you.
Rating: ★★★★☆ Why?: Great range but prices vary frequently between similar products.
